Deconvolution from instrumental devices and source effect in acoustic experiments

چکیده
Two methods to deconvolve experimental data from the distortions introduced by instrumental devices or source effects are presented. Considering a total acquistion system (emissionreception line, amplifier, pre-amplifier) as a global experimental filter, we can define its properties (module and phase) experimentally from the generation of a family of source signals dilated in time. The estimation of this filter allows the deconvolution of the recorded output signal. The first approach is based on the simple reconstruction formula of the continuous wavelet transform (CWT). The second method is based on the construction of a normalized family of a finite number of specific filters, independent of the frequency range used. In both cases, experimental results in an acoustic tank are presented. We show that after deconvolution, the source signal is correctly reconstructed from the recorded output signal and the global instrumental filter.

Beam deconvolution in noisy CMB maps
The subject of this paper is beam deconvolution in small angular scale CMB experiments. The beam effect is reversed using the Jacobi iterative method, which was designed to solved systems of algebraic linear equations. The beam is a non circular one which moves according to the observational strategy. A certain realistic level of Gaussian instrumental noise is assumed. The method applies to sma...
متن کاملExperimental Signal Deconvolution in Acoustic Emission Identification Setup
Identification of acoustic sources is a great deal and the most important problem emerging in biomedical applications and nondestructive testing. We present the basics of time reversal Acoustic Emission (AE) principle and point out the advantages of AE nondestructive testing for localization and classification of acoustic sources. This approach provides the tool for the defect localization by m...
متن کاملInterferometry by deconvolution, Part 1— Theory for acoustic waves and numerical examples
Interferometry allows for synthesis of data recorded at any two receivers into waves that propagate between these receivers as if one of them behaves as a source. This is accomplished typically by crosscorrelations. Based on perturbation theory and representation theorems, we show that interferometry also can be done by deconvolutions for arbitrary media and multidimensional experiments. This i...

In this work, aluminum nitride (AlN) thin films with different thicknesses were deposited on quartz and silicon substrates using single ion beam sputtering technique. The physical and chemical properties of prepared films were investigated by different characterization technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra revealed that all of the deposited films have an amorphous str...

The overall long-term goal for this project is to develop engineering tools that are useful to the Navy as it operates in uncertain, partially known, or unknown ocean environments. During the last year, this project has focused on further determining the utility of a fully passive propagation-physics-based technique for blind deconvolution of array-recorded sounds from a remote source with emph...
